A very proper Harry Potter subway prank

The newest MTA line offers a train to Hogwarts.

This is how you do a prank.

A circle, which perfectly matches the other circles in size and typeface, has been pasted on New York's 14th St. Union Square Metropolitan Transportation Authority subway sign.

The maroon circle advertises the 9 3/4 line. Now, to an ordinary muggle, this might mean not mean anything, but wizards in training take the 9 3/4 line, riding Hogwart's Express to get to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, courtesy of the imagination of J. K. Rowling.

How many people do you suppose were jolted into smiling when they saw that sign?

Hogwart's Express might be a finer train
than a New York subway.
