Spying pigeon captured by Indian police

This pigeon may not be what she seems.

A pigeon was found by a resident of Punjab, India, with a ring around its foot and a Pakistani phone number and address stamped in red ink on its white body.

The pigeon was found in a border area between the two countries.

Police suspect that the pigeon was a spy that may have arrived in India from Pakistan with a note, which is now missing.

Local pigeon fanciers have said that pigeons from Pakistan can be identified as foreign because they look different from Indian pigeons.

The pigeon was being held in custody.
