Peek inside the Haunted Mansion via Disney artist Claude Coats

With a few white marks on black paper,
he created the illusion of a spooky chandelier.

Claude Coats, a Disney artist for 54 years, was a background artist and color stylist for Disney's animated films. He also worked on sketches for the Haunted Mansion theme park attraction, which helped give the whole thing a most creepy feeling.

His sketch for the ballroom scene,
where invisible ghosts dance.
